I just filed FB25269898. Several months back it worked to adjust the time zone or time, I can't remeber exactly. Right now I can not find any way to trick it into light mode.

One way to work around this is by manually downloading Xcode 26.6, rename the Xcode.app to Xcode 26.6.app, drop it in your Applications folder and start "Simulator" from Spotlight. It has a partially broken UI but you can still open up the CarPlay window. Sometimes it does not respond to anything though, usually restarting the simulator fixes this.

Maybe you can revisit this, having a mix of items with and without detailText gives a pretty bad UI.

I would prefer a native toggle switch like the CarPlay settings app has too. But since nothing like that is available to 3rd party apps we have to use the accessoryImage.

Previously I had 2 targets for the Watch and WatchExtension giving me the broken context. Switching over to the newer single target for the Watch made it work. Thank you @maxik!

Are there any news on that topic? Android Auto has support for that and first cars are out already providing telemetry. https://developer.android.com/reference/androidx/car/app/hardware/info/CarInfo Is there something similar on CarPlay available? If not are there any plans to add support?

I'm glad I found this topic here since I face the same issue for quite a while now. Even in Xcode 16.1 it does not work properly. At most it works on every other start but most of the time I have to connect the external CarPlay screen 3-4 times until it responds to mouse clicks. Suggesting to use the CarPlay Simulator isn't much of a help since you need to connect a iPhone to your computer. Testing different iOS versions is basically impossible on that.
