Update — November 5, 2026
It has now been 63 days (9 weeks) since Apple Finance acknowledged receiving my corrected W-9, and I still have not received confirmation that it was accepted or whether further action is required.
Despite multiple follow-up emails, a phone call involving several Apple Support advisors, and opening another support case on October 29, I've received nothing beyond automated acknowledgments.
I have invested thousands of dollars and countless hours building my business, developing my app, and preparing for launch. My app is approved and ready for release, yet my business plans are at a complete standstill because I cannot get a simple response from Apple Finance.
What makes this especially frustrating is the uncertainty. I have no idea whether I'll ever receive a response, or whether, after waiting all this time, Apple will simply tell me my W-9 was never processed, cannot be located, or needs to be resubmitted; potentially starting this entire waiting process over again.
As a paying Apple Developer Program member, I pay $99 annually for the privilege of developing and distributing apps on Apple's platform. At this point, nearly three months of that paid membership have passed while I've been unable to move forward with my planned launch. I'm effectively paying Apple for membership time that I cannot fully utilize because Apple won't confirm whether my tax information has been corrected.
Every additional week represents lost time, delayed opportunities to generate revenue, and unnecessary stress. Nine weeks without even confirming whether a submitted tax form was accepted is unacceptable, especially for developers who have invested significant time and money into building their businesses on Apple's platform.
I am now considering consulting an attorney to better understand my options if this issue continues to go unresolved.
