Reply to Xcode 27.1 does not recognize iPhone 15 Pro — pairingState: unsupported
Thank you to everyone who has responded and tried to help. I would like to summarize the situation and all the troubleshooting steps we have already tried, so we can avoid repeating the same suggestions. My setup: MacBook running macOS 27.0.1 Xcode 27.1 iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 27.0.1 (build 24A446) A simple SwiftUI project that builds and runs successfully in the simulator The problem: My iPhone 15 Pro does not appear as a physical development device in Xcode. Device Hub shows "No Physical Devices", even though Finder and Apple Configurator can recognize and communicate with the iPhone. The xcrun devicectl list devices command detects the iPhone, but the connection information reports: pairingState: unsupported tunnelState: unavailable What we have already tried: Restarted the MacBook, iPhone, and Xcode. Updated the iPhone to iOS 27.0.1. Confirmed that Xcode 27.1 is installed and selected under Command Line Tools. Signed in with my Apple Account in Xcode. Checked that Developer Mode is enabled on the iPhone. Connected the unlocked iPhone directly to the MacBook. Tried different USB-C ports and multiple data-capable USB-C cables. Confirmed that Finder recognizes the iPhone. Confirmed that Apple Configurator can display the iPhone and read its device information. Temporarily disabled NordVPN. Checked the Mac's USB accessory connection settings. Opened Device Hub and selected Physical Devices, but no iPhone appears. Tried Device Hub's "Pair Nearby Device" option. It remains on "Waiting to pair", while nothing happens on the iPhone. There is no error message on the iPhone, and no new "Trust This Computer" prompt appears. My question: Since the USB connection works in Finder and Apple Configurator, but Xcode cannot establish a development connection, what specific diagnostic or repair step would you recommend next? I would particularly appreciate advice that goes beyond the checks listed above. Is there a known CoreDevice pairing issue, a way to inspect the relevant logs, or a specific service that might be failing? I am a beginner learning SwiftUI, and I would very much like to test my first app on my actual iPhone Thank you for your time and assistance.

Reply to Xcode 27.1 does not recognize iPhone 15 Pro — pairingState: unsupported
Thank you for your help. I have some additional information. I tested another USB-C data cable, but my iPhone 15 Pro still does not appear in Xcode 27.1 or Device Hub. However, Apple Configurator successfully recognizes my iPhone and displays its device information. The exact iOS version is 27.0.1 (24A446). Developer Mode is enabled on the iPhone, but Xcode still does not recognize it as a physical development device. The devicectl output previously showed: pairingState: unsupported tunnelState: unavailable Since Apple Configurator recognizes the iPhone, could this indicate a specific Xcode pairing or device-support issue? Is there anything else I can safely check without resetting or erasing my iPhone? Thank you for your assistance.

Thank you for your reply. I opened Device Hub in Xcode 27.1 and selected "Physical Devices". Unfortunately, Device Hub displays "No Physical Devices". My iPhone 15 Pro is connected via USB-C, unlocked, and recognized by Finder. When I connect the iPhone, it connects immediately without asking me to trust the computer. No error message appears on the iPhone. Developer Mode is enabled, but Xcode still does not recognize the iPhone as a physical development device. The devicectl output still shows pairingState: unsupported and tunnelState: unavailable. Do you have any suggestions for what I should try next? Thank you for your help.
