iOS 17.2 public beta battery drain
My iPhone 17 became practically unusable after installing the iOS 27.2 beta. After charging it to 85%, it doesn't even make it through a single night anymore. Yesterday at around 10:00 PM the battery was at about 80%, and by 5:00 AM it had dropped to just 9%. I expected this kind of battery drain to last no more than a day due to indexing and post-update background processing, but the issue has persisted for a good three days now. In fact, you can literally watch the battery percentage dropping before your eyes. I understand that installing beta software comes with risks, but I'm genuinely disappointed by this situation and hope that the next update arrives soon. At the moment, it's a disaster. The phone is essentially connected to a charger almost all the time.

Search Field in Preview app iOS 27
I’m using the new Preview app on an iPhone running iOS 27 with a multi-page PDF that contains selectable text. Apple’s Preview guide says PDF text search is supported: open the PDF, tap Search, type a word/phrase, and use previous/next match arrows. But I cannot find a Search/Find control anywhere. I checked: • The visible top toolbar • The filename dropdown (it only shows Duplicate, Move, Rename, Export, and Print) • The **- - - ** menu • The bottom toolbar Has anyone found the actual Find in PDF control in the current iPhone Preview interface? If it is missing for you too, please include your iPhone model and exact iOS 27 version/build.

Apple Watch remote keyboard (iPhone): pasted text arrives empty on the watch, typed text works (watchOS 27.2)
When a text field on Apple Watch is filled through the iPhone's remote keyboard, text that I PASTE into the iPhone field is displayed correctly on the iPhone but arrives EMPTY on the watch. Typing the same text character by character works fine. This happens in both secure (password) fields and regular text fields, so it doesn't look like a password-field restriction. Steps to reproduce On the watch, open a text field (I tested a password field and a regular one). Open the keyboard on the iPhone when prompted. Copy a short test string (e.g. "test12345") from another app. Paste it into the iPhone field. The iPhone shows the text. Confirm on the watch. Expected: the watch receives the pasted text. Actual: the watch field receives empty input. What I tried Typing the string by hand: arrives correctly. Pasting in a secure field: arrives empty. Pasting in a regular field: arrives empty. Environment iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 27.0 [confirm current version] Apple Watch Ultra 2, watchOS 27.2 (24S5091f) MacBook Pro (M1), macOS 27.2 Has anyone else seen this? Any workaround other than typing the text manually would be appreciated.

Walkie-Talkie app missing in watchOS 27 beta
While testing the watchOS 27 beta, I noticed that the standalone Walkie-Talkie app has been removed from the system. Walkie-Talkie has always been a great, lightweight way to stay connected. Much like Digital Touch, it’s one of those quick, low-friction features that makes the watch feel uniquely personal for communication throughout the day. I am really hoping its absence is just a temporary beta omission rather than a permanent retirement of the feature. I have already submitted a request via Feedback Assistant asking the engineering team to consider keeping it in the final release. If you also rely on this app for quick wrist-to-wrist updates, I highly recommend submitting your own feedback ticket to let the team know there is still an active user base for it. (FB23040695) Has anyone else ran into this or found an official note from Apple regarding its removal in the release notes? Hopefully, we will see it return before the public release this fall. Over and out!

Xcode 26 keeps telling you "Not Signed In" after you authorize Claude or Codex in the browser?
If you're on an Intel Mac, here's the reason and the fix. Cost me an evening, and I found nothing online except closed bug reports with the same symptom. The problem: The browser flow works fine. You authorize, the page confirms, Xcode acts like nothing happened, no error anywhere. Xcode only downloads the Apple Silicon (arm64) build of its agent binaries. On Intel they can't run at all. The process meant to receive your login dies instantly with "bad CPU type in executable" and Xcode never surfaces it. Check if this is you: file ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/CodingAssistant/Agents/claude/*/claude If it says arm64 and your Mac is Intel, that's the problem. The fix: Open the Info.plist next to the binary. It has the exact download URL. Download the x64 build of the same version. → Claude: change darwin-arm64 to darwin-x64 in that URL. → Codex: grab codex-x86_64-apple-darwin.tar.gz from the matching rust-v release on GitHub. Replace the binary and make it executable: chmod 755 Update the checksum in Info.plist. It's a plain SHA-512: shasum -a 512 Restart Xcode and sign in again. Bonus (Claude Pro / Max) Run claude setup-token in Terminal, then add the token to: ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/CodingAssistant/ClaudeAgentConfig/settings.json {"env": {"CLAUDE_CODE_OAUTH_TOKEN": "your-token"}} Pick "Authenticate with Configuration File" in the agent menu. Runs on your subscription no API key. Heads up: an Xcode update can re-download the wrong binary, so you may have to repeat this until Apple fixes the architecture detection.

Apple Developer Account Conversion to Organization Still Pending After Submitting Business Document
I’m looking for advice from anyone who has gone through the process of converting an Apple Developer account to an Organization / Company account. I’ve been trying to convert my account for organization and the process has been taking much longer than expected. Apple initially requested documentation to verify both the business and my authority to act on behalf of the company. So far, I have already provided or prepared everything they ask for. At this point, I’ve been waiting for 9 days without much clarity on whether my documents are sufficient

UIKit Developer for Non-Profit iOS/iPad App - Anybody interested?
I inherited an App which was pulled of the AppStore some time ago. I want to revive the project as I am convinced that there’s an interest in it. I am not experienced in iOS development, let alone UIKit (or Swift). Project has been setup as a non-public GIT repo. The project needs to stay non-profit. MIT license. I have a domain where I will host the web page for help etc. All non-profit! About: UIKit with reference to add’l framework for mathematical calculations (a nice fellow from this community helped me out on this :). former name Multiplans (Internet Archives still has the old webpage). navigation app using exclusively offline maps. very basic functionality, focus on the important stuff while you’re exploring the outdoors. POI/Track management. lots of map formats supported. Todo: maintenance, replace deprecated functions. a few minor bugs. implement a couple of functions in track management (like splitting track segments).

Chat with Open Knowledge Format Memories: ChatOKF
Early Access via TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/Qsvxk5Mh What is it: https://leok7v.github.io/ChatOKF/ Open Source: https://github.com/leok7v/ChatOKF A capable AI assistant that lives on your iPhone and iPad. The model runs on your device's own chip, so nothing you type is uploaded and nothing is logged. Once a model is downloaded, ChatOKF works in airplane mode. No account. No sign-in. No subscription. No ads, no analytics, no telemetry. WHAT YOU CAN DO Ask anything: check the math on a loan, plan a week of dinners, untangle a confusing letter. Show it a picture: a photo of a menu, a street sign or a whiteboard, straight from your library. Some models also listen to audio and watch video, frame by frame. Hand it a document: a PDF, a Word file or a spreadsheet. It reads the tables inside and answers from the file, and one tap opens the page to check it. Watch it think: the stronger models reason before they answer. Read the reasoning, tap Quick Answer to cut it short, or switch thinking off for speed. Let it look things up: Wikipedia, today's headlines, the weather and web search are tools it can use, each behind its own switch. Keep going: it suggests a sensible next question; swipe right to ask it. Keep what it gives you: answers are typeset, tables and mathematics included. Search and rename your chats, share one as a PDF, and bring a deleted chat back within thirty days. Talk instead of typing: tap the microphone and speak, and have replies read aloud in one of eight voices made on your device. MEMORY YOU CAN READ Tell it to remember something and it writes a short note, and the chat says what it wrote. Later questions are checked against your notes first, whichever model is answering. Every note is listed under Memories, to read or to delete. One switch, Total Recall, turns it all off. WHERE YOUR WORDS GO Nowhere, unless it looks something up. With Wikipedia on, your question is matched to an article on your device and only that article is downloaded. With web access on, the model's search terms go to a search engine and the pages it chooses are fetched. Settings, Privacy says exactly what leaves your device for each one. PICK YOUR MODEL Several open models are offered, and the list shows only what your device can hold, so every one you see will run. Gemma 4 E2B and E4B: they see pictures, hear sound and watch video. Qwen3.5 2B and 4B: good with tools and longer answers. Ternary Bonsai 1.7B: small and fast, for devices with less memory. GOOD TO KNOW The first launch downloads a model, from about half a gigabyte to a few gigabytes. Use Wi-Fi; after that, no network is needed. Devices with more memory are offered stronger models, and newer chips answer faster. Answers are generated and can be wrong. Check anything that matters. ChatOKF is written in Swift on Metal, and its source is on GitHub. Models are provided by their authors under their own licenses, including the Gemma Terms of Use.

Apple Developer enrollment paid, but account now shows “Not Eligible”
Title: Apple Developer enrollment paid, but account now shows “Not Eligible” Hello, I recently enrolled in the Apple Developer Program using my Apple Account. I completed the enrollment process and paid the membership fee using Apple Pay. The payment was successfully charged, and during the enrollment process I was told that I would receive an email shortly regarding the enrollment. However, I never received that email. When I now log in to my Apple Developer account, it says that my account is not eligible for the Apple Developer Program. The membership fee has already been charged, so I would like to understand what happened to my enrollment and whether the payment can be associated with my application. Could someone please advise me on what I should do next or how I can have the enrollment and payment reviewed? Thank you.

My wired earphone stopped working when I updated to IOS 27.
Since updating my iPhone to iOS 27, my wired earphones are no longer detected. Audio continues to play through the internal speakers, and the accessory is not recognized. To isolate the issue, I tested the exact same earphones and adapter on a friend’s iPad running iOS 26, and they worked without any problems. This confirms the physical hardware and adapter are functional, indicating a software bug or accessory driver issue in iOS 27. Steps Taken: Restarted the iPhone. Cleaned the charging port. Verified full hardware functionality on an iOS 26 device. Please advise on a fix or include a patch for audio accessory detection in the next iOS 27 update.

macOS 27.2 b2: Contacts app freezes for several seconds on every contact card
What happens Since installing macOS 27.2 b2, the Contacts app has become almost unusable on my two Macs. Opening a contact or moving to the next one often freezes the app for 8 to 10 seconds, with the spinning wheel. It happens many times in a row while browsing the address book. It comes back no matter what I try: restarting, letting iCloud resync the contacts, deleting and recreating cards. Once, it seemed to go away after restarting, but it returned after a couple of minutes into using Contacts again. Both Macs share the same iCloud account (~690 contacts): a MacBook Pro M4 Pro and a Mac mini M4, both on 27.2 b2 (26B5091g). Reported as FB24928119. Technical details All 18 Contacts_*.spin reports show the main thread blocked in CNCDContactFetcher withLockedContext_fetchPosterData, waiting on a synchronous XPC call to com.apple.contacts.poster.api. That service is postersyncd, which syncs Contact Posters. The kernel kills postersyncd with exceeded mem limit: InactiveHard 20 MB (fatal) at 30–35 MB. launchd relaunches it every ~10 s: 74 kills in 26 h on one Mac, 54 in 24 h on the other. log stream --level debug shows the same sequence on every relaunch: START: Background cleanup → Potential cleanup for missingLocalContactIdentifiers → FetchingContacts → killed within the same second. The cleanup never finishes, so it restarts forever. The poster store (group.com.apple.contacts/ContactsMetadata) is ~85 MB, with blobs of up to 9 MB each. The memory limit stays InactiveHard even while Contacts is frontmost. Moving the poster store aside doesn't help: iCloud rebuilds it in ~25 s. Posters deleted from iOS or iCloud.com get a deletion date but are never purged. Question: Has anyone else seen this on 27.2 beta? Is there a way to reset the Contact Posters data stored in iCloud?
