New developer account: first app "Waiting for Review" since Oct 11 after Guideline 2.1 info request

Hello,

My first app, FilmBase: Movie & TV Tracker (iOS, version 1.0), has been in Waiting for Review since October 11, 2026.

Timeline:

  • Oct 8: submitted
  • Oct 9: Guideline 2.1 – Information Needed (the standard request for new developer accounts)
  • Oct 10: replied with the screen recording from a physical device and all requested details, and added the same information to the App Review Notes
  • Oct 11: resubmitted; status has been Waiting for Review since
  • Oct 17: contacted Developer Support (Case ID 102999877039); no reply yet

The app is a free, offline-first film and TV rating diary: no accounts, no in-app purchases, no ads, no user-generated content. Agreements and account details show no outstanding issues in App Store Connect.

Is there anything further I should provide, or could someone check whether the submission is held for an account-side reason?

Thank you.

Since you answered the Guideline 2.1 request and resubmitted on Oct 11, the current version is back in the review queue. “Waiting for Review” means the submission is waiting for review to begin; it doesn't by itself show that your account is blocked. The earlier information request and the current queue status are separate steps.

You have already provided the recording and details, so I wouldn't cancel or submit another version just to try to move it along. Keep an eye on the Resolution Center and the App Review messages for a follow-up. Since you opened a support case, reply on that case with the current status and submission date rather than opening duplicates. Only Apple Support can check whether there is an account-side hold.
