Reply to macOS 27 Photos Search/People indexing severely incomplete — FB24521305
Update for anyone who finds this thread: fixed for me by macOS 27.2 (26B123). On 27.0.1, Photos search returned nothing on one Mac, even in a brand-new library, while photoanalysisd kept logging "diverging graph versions (701 vs expected 801)". After installing 27.2 and leaving the Mac on overnight, Photos rebuilt its graph, the error stopped, and search works normally. No repair or reset was needed. If you still see this, update to 27.2 and give Photos a night to re-analyse before trying anything else. I've asked for my Feedback report (FB25135467) to be closed.

Thanks for posting the new-library result. I tried the same thing and it did NOT fix search for me. On 10-19 I created a new System Photo Library on my Mac Studio (macOS 27.0.1, 26A434) and let it re-sync from iCloud (Optimize Mac Storage). Overnight it fully analysed: about 47k items, roughly 1.97 million scene labels and 87k faces, which matches my MacBook. But searching the new library for "tree", "house" or "car" still returns Photos (0). Only Memories match by title, and one search spins indefinitely. I see the same error you quoted. photoanalysisd logs it every two hours: Graph cannot be used because of diverging graph versions (701 vs expected 801) photolibraryd also still logs this on the new library: sceneTaxonomyDigests: (null) != searchIndexSceneTaxonomySHA So a fresh library re-analyses fine here, but the search index never uses the results. I've added this to FB25135467.
