Reply to First iOS app stuck in “Waiting for Review” for 9 days – expedited review requested
Update – October 24, 2026 – Resubmission after Guideline 4.3(a) rejection I'm following up on my previous post regarding PitCaptain (iOS). My original submission was rejected on October 18 under Guideline 4.3(a) – Design – Spam. I have since submitted an updated version after reviewing the rejection feedback and checking the app against the relevant guideline. However, I disagree with the characterization of PitCaptain as a spam app. It is a purpose-built stint planning tool for endurance karting, designed to address a specific need during races. It is not intended to be a repackaged template or a minimally modified copy of another app. The rejection also mentioned an extended review due to potential safety, security, or quality concerns. I would appreciate clarification on how this assessment applies to my app, particularly given that the stated rejection reason is Guideline 4.3(a). Timing is becoming critical. Our team has a next endurance race Saturday, October 31, and PitCaptain is intended to be used during the event. I have already requested an expedited review and contacted Developer Support, but I still need clarity on the next steps. I understand that Apple cannot guarantee a review deadline, and I respect the need for App Review. However, this is an independently developed app for a specific use case, and I would appreciate a clear explanation of what needs to change for it to meet the guidelines. Could an Apple representative clarify: Whether the updated submission can be considered for expedited review given the upcoming race. What specifically led to the Guideline 4.3(a) classification, so I can address any remaining concerns accurately. Whether there is anything further I should provide or change to help resolve this issue. I would prefer to resolve this constructively rather than repeatedly submitting updates without a clear understanding of the underlying concern. Thank you for your time and any guidance.

Update – October 18, 2026 PitCaptain (iOS 1.0.0, build 10) has now been in "Waiting for Review" for 11 days, since October 7. Expedited review was requested and Developer Support was contacted; there are no messages or open issues in App Store Connect. I see many developers reporting similar delays for first submissions this month, so I understand this may be a general backlog rather than an issue with my app. Could someone from Apple share what the realistic review time for new apps is at the moment? The 24–48 hours mentioned in the documentation does not seem to reflect the current situation. This matters for planning: PitCaptain is used during endurance races, and our team has a race on every sunday. If the review timeline is unclear, I need to arrange an alternative for that event. Is there anything I can do on my side, or is it best to simply wait without withdrawing the submission? Thank you for any clarification.
