Developer Account Stuck
We have had a difficult time getting our developer account approved and it has been many months. The orginator has left the company, and even though she has tried from her current role to get a resolution, nothing seems to work. We have made many, many calls and emails, and nothing seems to help. Anyone have any ideas?

macOS 27 RC: Query text disappears in new Siri-integrated Spotlight when results update
I’m seeing a reproducible UI bug with Spotlight on macOS 27 RC (26A428). The issue has been present since at least build 26A5416b (Developer Beta 6 / Public Beta 4), persisted through subsequent beta releases, and is still reproducible on RC 26A428. When I open Spotlight using the new Search or Ask interface and begin typing, the entered query text can become completely invisible from approximately the second character onward, even though Spotlight continues searching and displaying results normally. The interesting part is that the issue seems tied to Spotlight updating its search results. For example: Open Spotlight. Type a character that quickly matches something on the Mac. Continue typing. Once the results update, the query text becomes invisible. If I type random characters extremely quickly, before Spotlight has time to return a result for the first few characters, the text may remain visible. Another useful detail: after the query text disappears, pressing Delete/Backspace causes it to become visible again. The search itself is still functioning, the problem appears to be with rendering or state updates in the new Siri-integrated Spotlight query field, rather than with Spotlight search/indexing itself. I have reproduced this on macOS 27 RC build 26A428, including: a newly created macOS user account Safe Mode so it does not appear to be caused by user preferences, caches, login items, or third-party software. I submitted a screen recording through Feedback Assistant that clearly shows the text disappearing as results update. Feedback: FB24462893 Is anyone else seeing this on the RC? The correlation between the text disappearing and the results UI updating makes me suspect a rendering/state-update issue in the new Spotlight interface.

Notice of Terminal shell change to zsh appeared on OS26.6.2 Suspicious?
Hi, I understand that users of mac OS 10 were notified that the Terminal default-shell had changed from Bash to zsh. I have not seen that message since. However, my current MacBookPro running OS26.6.2 has just popped up that old message: Last login: Tue Sep 15 17:42:23 on ttys000 The default interactive shell is now zsh. To update your account to use zsh, please run chsh -s /bin/zsh. For more details, please visit https://support.apple.com/kb/HT208050. Apple Developer Program enrollment stuck over 1 year — Case ID: 102718117149 — request written status update
Dear Apple Developer Support, I submitted an Apple Developer Program enrollment (current Case ID: 102718117149). It has now been over a year. I have never reached the payment step, never received a rejection, and have never been asked to provide any additional materials. Contact history on file for this Case: Oct 9, 2025: Called Apple Developer Support Oct 16, 2025: Emailed Sep 7, 2026: Called Sep 8, 2026: Called and emailed Sep 11, 2026: Called again (advisor confirmed escalated to operations team — no substantive conclusion since) Current status at developer.apple.com/account: [填你页面现在显示的原话] After a full year with zero substantive feedback, I am formally requesting: The exact internal step where this application is blocked (identity verification / address review / region attribute / risk control / other). A complete list of what I need to provide — once, clearly, so I'm not guessing through repeated calls. Escalation to a supervisor or lead, with a written conclusion within 5–7 business days. If this cannot proceed, issue a formal rejection with the reason. I accept the conclusion — I just need to know why so I can reapply correctly. I am not asking for special treatment. I need one clear answer — what to supplement, approve, or reject — not another "please keep waiting." Phone: +86 15870012009 Best regards

Booting from an External SSD
I have a Mac Mini M4 with an LG 32" monitor. I have a 1 TB external SSD that I want to run Golden Gate beta. I was running both Sonoma on the M4 and Sonoma beta on the EHD. For some reason, maybe the beta required or did a firmware update, the M4 crashed with an amber light. Had to take the M4 into a Genius Bar to get reset. If I run Golden Gate on an EHD is there a possibility that I might run into a firmware issue? Is that possible? Any comments on the above and any tips on installing Golden Gate on the EHD? OT

Help with developer account
I am facing a major roadblock trying to publish our esports platform, eGame Arena. My developer account enrollment has been stuck "In Review" for an extended period, and the system is completely frozen on the identity verification step.I have already completed all the requested steps, uploaded the official government-issued ID, and filled out the required information through the Apple Developer App. However, I have never received any confirmation email stating whether the identity verification was accepted, rejected, or if additional documents are needed. When checking my account status on the web portal, it simply displays a pending verification message with no action items or options to retry the submission. I have opened multiple support cases but only received automated responses, and our public launch schedule is heavily delayed because of this.Has anyone found a reliable way to force a re-upload, clear this stuck status, or successfully escalate an identity verification delay to a senior specialist?Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Spring Loaded Folders seem broken in MacOS 27 RC
In previous versions of macOS, I could drag a file from another application, such as an attachment in Mail, onto the Finder icon in the Dock. Finder would then expose available Finder windows, allowing me to continue holding the dragged file, move into the desired Finder window, navigate through folders using spring-loaded folder behavior, and ultimately drop the file into a nested destination. Are others seeing this?

Display discomfort on stable iOS/macOS releases, but not on beta versions—what could explain this?
Hi folks, I experience nausea and visual discomfort when looking at the screens on my Apple devices. However, I’ve noticed that this discomfort goes away when I switch to beta versions of iOS or macOS. While trying to narrow down the cause, I found that the following changes also eliminate my symptoms on the stable release of macOS: On my MacBook Pro, changing the display preset from “Apple XDR Display (P3-1600 nits)” to “Apple Display (P3-600 nits).” On my MacBook Air (M5, 15-inch), changing the color profile from “Color LCD” to “Display P3.” These observations make me wonder whether the issue could be related to gamma curves or how colors and brightness are rendered, though I’m not sure. On my iPhone, I haven’t found any display settings that provide similar relief. So far, switching to an iOS beta has been the only thing that helps. Has anyone experienced something similar? Could any display experts or Apple engineers offer insight into what might explain this, or suggest settings I could test? Thanks!

Retreiving app analytics
Gidday I hope that I have posted this in the correct thread. We have had an app developed on behalf of a not-for-profit organisation that I volunteer with, and part of my role is to report every month on the total number of installations for this app. Previously, I have been able to log on to "App Store Connect" and select the app, then Analytics and on the right-hand side of the page, the date range for the life of the app. Then it would show me the total number of installations for the app's life. Can anyone out there show me how to go about this now, considering that the total date range has been removed or am I missing this entirely?

Spotlight ignores “Files” exclusion and Search Privacy on macOS 26 Tahoe
I’m seeing inconsistent Spotlight behavior on macOS 26 Tahoe. In System Settings → Spotlight, I have: Apps: enabled Files: disabled Folders: disabled Despite this, Spotlight still shows regular files from many locations, including application support folders and user Library containers. Examples: /Applications/Adobe After Effects 2026/Presets/Image - Special Effects/Night Vision.ffx /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Creative Cloud/Components/CCLibs/resources/designLibraries/main.js.map /Users//Library/Containers/com.docker.docker/Data/log/vm/kmsg.log.0 I also added: /Applications/Adobe After Effects 2026/Presets to Spotlight → Search Privacy, but Spotlight continued to show: Night Vision.ffx in the Spotlight UI. This is reproducible with mdfind as well: mdfind 'kMDItemFSName == "Night Vision.ffx"c' returns: /Applications/Adobe After Effects 2026/Presets/Image - Special Effects/Night Vision.ffx I rebuilt the Spotlight index with: sudo mdutil -i off / sudo mdutil -X / sudo mdutil -i on / sudo mdutil -E / but the behavior persisted. I also encountered a separate but likely related issue where installed applications were temporarily missing from Spotlight search. For example, Visual Studio Code existed at: /Applications/Visual Studio Code.app and its Info.plist contained the correct bundle identifier: com.microsoft.VSCode but initially: mdls "/Applications/Visual Studio Code.app" returned: could not find /Applications/Visual Studio Code.app and: mdfind 'kMDItemCFBundleIdentifier == "com.microsoft.VSCode"' returned nothing. However, test-importing the app worked correctly: mdimport -t -d2 "/Applications/Visual Studio Code.app" and showed valid metadata such as: kMDItemCFBundleIdentifier = "com.microsoft.VSCode" kMDItemContentType = "com.apple.application-bundle" kMDItemDisplayName = "Visual Studio Code" Restarting Spotlight-related services: killall Spotlight killall corespotlightd sudo killall mds sudo killall mds_stores caused application indexing to start working again. After that, Visual Studio Code correctly appeared in: mdfind 'kMDItemCFBundleIdentifier == "com.microsoft.VSCode"' But the original problem remains: regular files still appear in Spotlight even though Files and Folders are disabled. I also verified that adding: com.apple.metadata:kMDItemSupportFileType = MDSystemFile as an extended attribute to a file makes it disappear from the Spotlight UI, which suggests the files are being indexed and surfaced despite the UI exclusion settings. Expected behavior: When Files and Folders are disabled in Spotlight settings, Spotlight should only show applications and should not show arbitrary files such as .ffx, .js.map, logs, presets, or application-support files. Also, files located inside a folder listed under Search Privacy should not appear in Spotlight results. Actual behavior: Spotlight continues to show these files, including files inside folders explicitly excluded by Search Privacy. This appears to be either: a regression in Spotlight result filtering on macOS 26 Tahoe, or a mismatch between the “Apps” category and application-related content indexing. It would be useful to know whether this is a known issue.
