Waiting for Review Megathread

Hi all,
It seems like there are a ton of us stuck in a "Waiting for Review" traffic jam, with Apple providing essentially no information on their end. Immensely frustrating.

Given that, would people be up for posting their time submitted and (once they receive a review) editing to include the time it took? It would be good to get a sense of how long everyone is waiting.

I'll go first:

Submitted: October 8
Status: Waiting for review

I'll update this post when I hear back.

Hi everyone,

Adding my experience to the growing list of developers stuck in the review queue.
App: Neatrip (iOS 1.0.0)
Account: Verified Apple Developer Organisation account
Submission: First app

Timeline:
21 October: Initial review returned under Guideline 2.1, requesting additional information due to limited App Review history.
21 October: Provided a comprehensive explanation, test credentials and a 6-minute functional demonstration recorded on a physical iPhone.
21 October: Resubmitted the application bdcause the first was failed just for further info requested
28 October: Submitted a formal expedited review request.
30 October: Still showing "Waiting for Review", with no further communication.

All developer agreements, organisational verification requirements and requested review information have been completed.

The Android version was reviewed and approved by Google Play within approximately 48 hours.

My concern isn't that Apple is taking longer to assess the application. It's that the submission has now spent nine days waiting for an active review to begin, despite the additional information being supplied immediately.

I appreciate that increased submission volumes may be creating a backlog, but the lack of transparency makes planning a launch extremely difficult.

If anyone from Apple App Review is monitoring this discussion, could you please clarify whether new applications are currently experiencing an extended backlog, whether first-time organisation accounts are subject to additional queuing, and whether expedited review requests are being processed?

Even an indication of current waiting times would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Emailed them about this but no response

Adding ours to the list in case it helps the App Review team track it down:

App: Formula Finder (Apple ID 6759680591)
Version: 1.0.2
In Waiting for Review since: October 27
Expedite requested, and followed up through Contact Us on October 29 (Case 103011747485), no response to either yet.

Our subscriptions were all reviewed and approved during this time, but the app version itself hasn't moved. If there's anything missing or anything you need from us, we're happy to provide it right away. Thank you!

Oh, this is discouraging. My first app was submitted Oct 27 and I foolishly assumed it would be 24 - 48 hours.

It is a 100% free, local utility camera app. It operates entirely offline. No data or media leaves the device, and there are absolutely no user logins, accounts, ads, tracking, or in-app purchases required.

Ran the subbittal process thoth Claude to make sure I clicked al lthe right boxes before i hit submit.

WIll update if anything changes. Hopefully my next post won't start with Happy New Year!

My app update was rejected and I immediately fixed the issuse. It's been waiting for review for a week now, meanwhile two other apps I developed were updated for Duo and submitted today and both were approved within six hours.

It truly makes no sense!

What can I do to get my other app moving? Thats the priority app for me and sitting in limbo is frustrsting.

My app was rejected for 2.1 information needed. Answered Apples review questions, uploaded couple of videos of the usage of the app on a real device. Resubmitted on the 26th of October, app review status changed to "Waiting for Review" ever since.

Has anyone used "Expedite App Review"?

Initially submitted on october 1st

Fixed and re-submitted on oct 18th
Waiting for review....

just a follow up. are apps getting reviewed yet.? mine is not yet. i need some hope. , ivr had to put everything on hold

Adding our timeline to this thread and a question about the recent agreement update.

App: BK Tools: Offline Toolkit (Apple ID 6823224112), iOS 1.0 / build 10. First app on an individual developer account.

  • October 16: supplied the requested Guideline 2.1 information and a demonstration recorded on a physical iPhone; included the information and video in App Review Information. Submitted the current version at 10:10 AM Europe/Istanbul.
  • November 1: still Waiting for Review, 16 days later, with no additional action request visible on the current submission.
  • We have contacted App Review Status support and Developer Support; acknowledgements received, but no substantive response so far. I can provide the case and submission IDs privately through an official Apple support channel.
  • The updated Developer Program License Agreement issued October 29 is now shown as accepted on November 1. After refreshing, the agreement warning disappeared. Business shows the Free Apps Agreement and DSA compliance as Active. The app is free and has no in-app purchases.

The agreement update cannot explain the entire wait since October 16, but I want to rule out a remaining account/submission block. For anyone who accepted the October 29 agreement while already Waiting for Review: did the existing submission resume automatically, or did Developer Support need to intervene?

If App Review staff are following this thread, could you help confirm that our existing submission is correctly queued and whether any further action is needed? We have kept the same submitted build and have not cancelled/resubmitted merely to restart the queue.

Thank you.

I had to wait 2 weeks for my new App to pass in "in review" and was rejected due to an tiny issue I fixed in 10 mins and resbumtited the App for review. Now I am waiting since Oct 26th again.
Meanwhile I got a first emal from App developer support without a response to my previous emails but just saying your App is in Review and if you have any question please tell us?? - I responded saying that my emails I sent 2 weeks ago are always unanswered and I wanted some clarification why it is not anymore possible to reach out to the Developer team per phone and why all those reviews are taking weeks.
No response since beginning of last week!

I've been waiting since October 16. I accept all updates to the agreements. I've already written to support twice, but haven't received a response

New developer, first app. Figured there would be minor issues so I submitted to get in the queue before realizing the backlog. When I submitted 1.0 I immediately began working on 1.1. When I had 1.1 complete I had to decide if I pulled 1.0 and resubmitted with 1.1, which I did. I now have 1.2 completed and ready to upload and the app is still "Waiting on Review".

One thing I'm curious about. If/when I receive comments for 1.1, do I have to upload 1.1 with the changes and stay in that build or can I submit the revisions for 1.1 with 1.2?

My honest gut feeling is it may be at least 6 months for my app to be approved. (if it ever does) I'm in the same boat as everyone else. Google Play Store has been approved since October 1st. Updating it to 1.2 today. Cannot market or push app until Apple approves, so the Play store version is just sitting there, no downloads.

Entire business is on pause.

1.2 is ready to submit, but have no idea what to do.

Same story here. My first app.

App: Shutterbug
Apple ID: 6446296940
Submission: c8500f13-745b-464d-b6b6-ca135032e257

  • October 17: Submitted for review (iOS and Mac)
  • October 19: Rejected under Guideline 4.3. I replied with details, updated the metadata, and resubmitted the same day
  • October 20: Rejected under Guideline 5.1.1(iv) for the label on the button before the Photos permission prompt. Resubmitted within hours
  • October 23: The Mac version received the same 5.1.1 rejection. I resubmitted it with the same fix that day
  • October 26: Requested expedited review
  • October 29: Contacted App Review through the Contact Us form, no response yet
  • November 2: Mac version approved. iOS version with the identical fix is still "Waiting for Review"

Maddening. All the launch materials feature fall/halloween photos anticipating an October release.

First app, almost 6 months of work. It has some paid features and is already available on Google Play, but I can't even start promoting it until the iPhone version is available too.

Here's my App Store review journey so far:

  • October 5: First submission.
  • October 6: Rejected. Apple asks for an iOS screen recording and some clarification about the app's features.
  • October 8: I send everything they asked for. And that's when the endless "Waiting for Review" loop begins.
  • October 24: After more than two weeks of waiting, I make a couple of changes and submit a new build.
  • October 24: Finally, something happens! The new submission gets rejected because the EULA link is missing from the App Store description.
  • October 24: I immediately fix the description, add the EULA link, and resubmit.

And... back to "Waiting for Review."

In the meantime, I've contacted Apple Support and actually received a reply. Basically, they told me my app would eventually be reviewed and I just needed to wait my turn.

Today is November 3. Almost a month since my first submission, and still no sign of an actual review.

After reading through all your stories in this thread, I can't say I'm feeling any more optimistic than before.

Has anyone actually found something that helps, or is waiting really the only option?

V1.0 production submission for this app.

Apple rejected the first build after a week for spamming, and I replied the same day, since it's neither a vibe-coded app, a stock template app, nor a copy of an existing app (to my knowledge). After not hearing back from Apple for a week, I just decided to submit a new build with the updates I've been working on while I waited.

This second build has been "waiting for review" since Oct 15, 2026 at 3:17 AM.

The Play Store submission also took a week, but since then everything has been going smoothly, with a wait time of a maximum of 48 h.

I am in the same situation. Do we know why?

i submitted mine on 24th october, yet to hear back anything. No response so far. its my first app and i have worked months on it, and still stuck in jam.

Submitted:22nd Oct
Rejected: 23rd Oct for 2.1 information needed.
Resubmitted: 23rd Oct with info and screen recording
Waiting for review: since 23rd Oct

11 days and counting.

Following up on my post:

  • Got approved Nov 3, so 18 days from my resubmit on Oct 16

So my timeline was:

  • Oct 15: Submitted v1.0
  • Oct 16: flagged by automated review for 3.1.2 (missing EULA link), fixed in metadata and resubmitted the same morning.
  • Oct 29: Sent email (not expedited review) asking for an update, never got a response
  • Nov 3: approved v1.0.

I've now submitted v1.0.1 that I was working on while waiting on review.

My advice would be to not pull your existing submission because you lose your spot in line.

And try to understand that you are one of tens of thousands of dollars cranking out apps for the App Store right now. Apple has the right to take their time making sure good apps are going in.

Adding our experience here, as we’re facing a similar and increasingly difficult situation.

Initial submission: October 11, 2026.
Latest resubmission: October 27, 2026.
Current status: Waiting for Review, over 8 days.

We’ve gone through multiple review cycles, a formal App Review Board appeal, and direct communication with an App Review representative.

Following that communication, we promptly addressed all remaining feedback, updated our screenshots, provided technical clarifications and supporting screen recordings, and submitted an expedited review request.

Despite all of this, the latest submission has not entered review, and our support follow-ups have not resulted in a substantive update.

We’re a small startup with retail partners and a commercial launch that has now been delayed for more than three weeks.

Has anyone in a similar situation managed to get their submission escalated or reviewed after App Review Board involvement?

If an Apple App Review representative sees this, we’d be extremely grateful for assistance checking whether our submission is correctly queued or awaiting additional internal verification.

Thank you.

Waiting 28 days in review so far without any review of the app itself.

11 days from last submission to approval.

This is a very simple puzzle app with no purchases, data collection and adverts.

Hopefully this might be indicative of the timeline for some.

Hi all,

Adding mine to the pile. App: WING18, App ID 6822624664, build 7, version 1.0.

Submitted: October 29
Status: Waiting for review (still, as of today)

A bit of context in case it's useful: originally rejected Oct 15 under Guideline 2.1, resubmitted a few times through late October. Submitted an expedited review request on Oct 28 and got confirmation ("We'll expedite review for WING18"), with guidance that a resubmission after rejection stays in the expedited queue automatically. Got rejected again Oct 29 morning under 3.1.1/3.1.3(c) and 5.1.2(i), fixed both and resubmitted that same evening. Still sitting in Waiting for Review a week later with no further updates, even though it should already be in the expedited queue per that confirmation.

We've already launched on another platform and are just waiting on iOS to follow — marketing campaigns are on hold until both are live, so this is having a real knock-on effect.

Not sure if there's a next step beyond the expedite request already submitted, or if this is just a longer stretch than usual right now. Appreciate any pointers, and will update this if I hear back.
